Bobby Banjo strikes a chord

Some events are meant for celebrating with the whole world…women’s suffrage, the day Henry David Thoreau was born, the unveiling of the iPhone, religious freedom, Paul Potts's inspirational American Idol opera debut, the day the tooth fairy finally remembered to take the Whiffen child's tooth and leave a crisp $1 bill…and the day a certain someone who is three years old, and who also likes to be called Bobby Banjo, POOPS IN THE POTTY FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME!

I interviewed Bobby Banjo afterward and this is what he had to say about it. “It’s easy to poop in the potty, Mom. See you just push it out and make a snake one.”

Popping the cork on the Martinelli’s and off for a game of mom sucking up Judd with the vacuum hose until he’s laughing so hard he has to go potty again.

Paul Potts-really? We got that CD for Christmas and I was not a lover. Yeah for poop in the potty!! I can't wait for Jack to figure that one out:) I've got a really great idea for a children's book--I know you are a writer--

That is exciting news! Way to go kiddo:) Have to say one of my favorite moments from our little visit in August is when he told me that he played the Banjo...

Okay, Ward, close your eyes. Play Nessun Dorma on the iPod. Now, take the Paul Potts story - a cell phone salesman who didn't believe in himself but has a deep passion for opera - and suck it in through your nose and deep into your lungs so it percolates throughout. Are you feeling it yet? If not, try imagine your husband cleaning toilets with his shirt off while listening again.

Isn't it funny how excited you get when your child uses the toilet! I love the comment he made.
